Woman Finds Vintage Wedding Dress Three Days Before Wedding

August 10th, 2020

There are still a ton of little things to do the week before your wedding. However, picking out a dress isn’t usually on the list.

One bride named Amanda ran into this problem, but she didn’t have an entire week to find a gown. She only had three days until she was getting hitched to her man!

So, Amanda grabbed her best-friend Rick and headed over to the vintage clothing store The Way We Wore in Los Angeles, hoping to find the perfect dress.

The bride-to-be’s dilemma was captured in an episode of the Smithsonian Channel’s show L.A. Frock Stars.

When Amanda and Rick first walked into the shop they were met by two employees, Nikki and Angelica, who were ready to offer assistance. But even they were shocked learning that her wedding was that weekend!

Turns out, Amanda’s original dress was “a mess” and “too big,” which is why she needed a different one so last minute. Luckily, they were in the right place going off of the fact that Amanda wasn’t a very “traditional” bride.

Amanda reveals to the workers that she was feeling like going an “old Hollywood” route and wanted something sleek. Being that The Way We Wore is a “high-end vintage clothing boutique” that’s filled with fashionable treasures – she really was in the right place!

Right away the ladies discover a couple of options.

Amanda’s face immediately lights up when she sees the two dresses, one of which really catches her eye. It’s a long silver gown that Angelica describes as having “a little nod to the 30s, but with that 70s sexiness.” Yes, and yes!

If you’re a fan of glamorous dresses, you’re going to love looking at Amanda’s choices.

Nikki pulls out a stunning Alexander McQueen gown, and the bride gushes over how pretty it is. She also admits that the designer is her “favorite!” Without question, the dress moves to the try-on rack.

It’s modeling time.

A dress is one thing on a hanger, but actually seeing it on the person is another. The first time that Amanda walks out of the dressing room she’s wearing a fabulous 1950s ball gown that makes her look (and feel) like a princess.

Employee Angelica says:

“This is my favorite gown in the whole boutique. And it’s just everything from the construction to the color, to the way it fits.”

While it seems like the ball gown could be the winner, there’s one issue.

Amanda feels that she might be a little overdressed because their theme is “county fair.” They decide she should try on the next option!

Amanda re-emerges from the dressing room saying, “I think I’ve found it!”

That’s a pretty good sign when you’re wedding dress shopping with someone, right?

When Amanda walks out she has all jaws on the floor. She looks amazing!

In the video, they describe it as an “Alexander McQueen silk chiffon gown with floral embroidery.”

On top of it being elegant and sexy, it fits Amanda like a glove. That’s some great luck being that her wedding was just around the corner! She knew her husband would love it.

In the end, Amanda purchases the McQueen dress for $3,500.

The bride-to-be was overjoyed, and everyone else was too! Angelica shared:

“It’s incredibly rewarding when a bride finds her gown with us. There’s something really special about it. And it’s always fun to be part of their story.”
