Have you ever abandoned an item you no longer want in a random place at the grocery store, thinking that someone will just put it back where it belongs? Well, if you moved something from the refrigerated section, it will have to be thrown away. Redditor PPLovee, who works at a grocery store, pleads: “Please, at least put it in a fridge even if it’s not the same section (unless it’s raw meat, in which case PLEASE put it back where it belongs)”.

Reddit user Marte1984 says that if you notice that you’re remembering things that never happened, or if you’re having a conversation with someone and they remember something that never happened, they’re probably ‘remembering’ a false memory. False memories can happen when you’re not getting enough sleep (5 hours or less per day).

Sometimes, fumbling to quickly unmute yourself on Zoom can be nerve-wracking – especially if you’re in the middle of a job interview. Redditor davidbowieguy69 has a hot tip: while you’re in a Zoom meeting, you can unmute yourself by pressing the spacebar button and holding it for as long as you’re talking. To mute again, simply release the spacebar.

If you’re already prone to depression and anxiety (and, let’s face it, who hasn’t felt depressed or anxious at one time or another?) dehydration can make these feelings that much worse. Being dehydrated drops your blood pressure, which can make you feel depressed. This also causes your heart rate to go up, which can make you anxious.

If you’ve ever picked up a snail, chances are you picked them up by the shell while they were still attached to whatever surface they were on – this is wrong. Picking snails up this way can cause their mantle to collapse and can lead to their death. Rather poke the shell gently and get the snail to retract into its shell before picking it up.

Have you ever had the sneaking suspicion that you’re being followed? According to u/dreadpiraterobertsdd, the best thing to do in that situation is to make four consecutive left or right turns – basically driving in a circle. If you’re still being followed, immediately call 911.

There’s a common misconception when it comes to choosing to buy a fake Christmas tree versus a live one. According to BinarySpaceman, many people think that buying a real tree contributes to deforestation – but this is simply not true. Christmas trees are grown on farms, not taken from the forest. And plastic trees are obviously much worse for the environment.

Did you know that the expiration dates on plastic water bottles are there for the bottles and not the water inside them? A sealed bottle of water will never expire, but it may begin to taste a little weird after a few years. This is because the plastic that the water bottles are made from is porous – which means that the water may absorb smells and tastes from the outside world if it’s stored for a long period of time.

If a service dog approaches you without its owner, chances are their owner needs help. Reddit user DJOK9R wrote: “This actually happened to me in my home town, a dalmatian with his service dog “coat” escorted me to their owner who had a stroke. I called 911 (112 where I’m from) and the ambulance took him and the dog to the hospital. Don’t just ignore the dog and assume it’s a stray dog, it’s trained to act accordingly.”

According to a study conducted in 2013, wearing sunglasses outside may actually make us feel happier. This is due to squinting our eyes when it’s bright out – which sends messages to the brain that we’re upset. This is because when we squint, we have a similar facial expression to when we’re angry and the brain gets confused.

While your first urge will be to rescue it, Don’t move it or try to ‘save’ it unless it is in immediate danger – the baby’s mom will be back for it.

It turns out that something that looks cute to you could be a sign of a serious problem for your pet. Pictures of people’s dogs and cats pressing their heads against a hard surface or wall began to circulate on social media a few years ago, but many pet owners don’t know that this behavior could mean that they have a brain tumor, stroke, or head trauma. If your pet does this, get them to a vet ASAP.

You can even load pictures you’ve already taken by tapping the picture icon in the top right corner,” Reddit user a1thirteen wrote. It can also recognize logos, landmarks, text, and can even translate text into other languages!

You should know that food delivery apps charge restaurants 15-30% on top of the delivery fees they charge you. When a restaurant sends food to someone using a food delivery app, they are often breaking even or losing money. The best way to support a local restaurant is to order food from them directly.

You should always thank the employer after an interview, no matter how you think it went. Redditor MrXx_xXXx_xX wrote: “I once had a job interview and I thought it didn’t go well, but I emailed the employer after anyways just to thank them for the opportunity. When they got back to me they said that I got the job, partly because I was the only one to thank them for the interview. You should always do this even if you think it’s pointless.”

Contrary to popular belief, the “chasing arrows” symbol on all your items does not mean you can recycle them. It’s actually the number inside the arrows that you need to pay attention to because they indicate what type of plastic the item is… and even then, only #1 and #2 means it can be recycled.

You know that speaker you pull up to when you order your food at a drive-through? Well, that’s also a speaker, and it activates when a car is even a little near it. Redditor Zachman97 wrote: “This is important because if you’re the type of person to sing songs from frozen while waiting in line and don’t want like 10 people listening, or make rude comments about the staff, everyone in the store with a headset can still hear you.”

If your dog ever gets into cooked bones from dinner, immediately give it bread and then take it to the vet. Cooked bones are very dangerous for a dog to eat because they splinter inside the gut and the sharp pieces can puncture your dog’s organs! Redditor TheMercDeadpool says: “I shoved bread down her gullet until she looked like she was pregnant.. the bread saved her life. And if not her life, it saved me from having to pay $3k+ for surgeries.”
